Soapbox1Soapbox Derby

We just had our annual SoapBox Derby on Saturday June 4, 2010. We had 41 children participate, which almost doubled from last year. SgtMaj  Tanksley was in attendance, as he kicked off the event. We held the SoapBox Derby out in town on Cactus and Bullion. It was a great event, in which allowed the town of Twentynine Palms and the Marine Corps base to build better relations. We also had 45 active duty Marines, Sailors, and Spouses volunteers which helped make this event as successful as it was.

The YMCA's peacetime charter to serve military personnel was formally endorsed by the U S Government in 1902 with the construction of facilities on many installations for recreational, sports, and counseling services for service members.
